Colonial Care is the best home care agency I have ever worked with in my career as a social worker. Their staff and administration are extremely responsive and professional. One of my clients is bed ridden with Glioblastoma. Through their careful vetting, Colonial Care found the perfect caregiver (Maria)! She has proven to be an empathetic and sensitive health care provider who anticipates the needs of her patient far in advance. She is not only a caregiver, but shows how much she loves her job and my client every day, as she shows up with a smile and uses humor and love to help in the most difficult circumstances.. She respects my client and treats her as a person, not just a patient. I was introduced to the company by an industry professional that specializes in geriatric care, and they couldn't have provided me with a better referral. My first interaction was with Laurie, and she did everything possible to help me get started with the company's services. Laurie is one of those rare individuals that does whatever it takes to deliver excellent service. After meeting Laurie, I was introduced to Catherina, the company's president. Catherina is one of the most caring and compassionate people I have met. She has invested a considerable amount of time with me over the past few months to ensure that my dad is receiving excellent care. There aren't many listings for this type of service on Yelp - and the services on Yelp don't have many reviews. Many other sites that have reviews are referral sites or services and aren't independent.

Makes it tough get reliable info when you really need 5 star Home Care Services - and it's not like you just say "well, won't go back there - will move on in my bookmarks!

This service provides in home caregiving on an hourly or live in basis. My mom had a stroke 4 years ago and I made the decision that a nursing center and other assisted living facilities weren't the right placement for her - I wanted her to stay in her own home for a variety of reasons.

The services are not cheap - and often not covered by insurance - unless you have a long term care policy - Some people hire Caregivers independently - this will save you some money in the short run, but in the long run it's a very bad idea.

Much better to go with a service - Let them do the hiring, firing, background checks, payroll, taxes, work mans comp and other insurance - as well as deal with sick days, substitutes and schedule changes.

This is the second service I have used - the first one went out of business - and Colonial picked up the ball for clients of our former service. I am glad they did - they are a huge upgrade!

Caregivers come and go for a variety of reasons - it's a variable that can't be controlled - the longest we've had was over a year. I am very happy with the caregivers i have at this time, and my impression is that the quality of caregivers from Colonial are more professional and higher quality then my previous service.

Caregivers are "feel" type of thing - you need one that works in terms of personality, etc. - finding the "right" people for my mom's needs is sometimes a challenge.

Mostly what you are looking for in a service is just that - service - I have found Colonial to be 5 star in every area - Every person I have dealt with has been great- starting at the top with the Owner/President Trevor, their Client Services Manager & Personnel Supervisor Nancy, Field Care supervisor Chrissy on down to our caregivers and their occasional substitutes.

These people not only provide great service - they provide caring, understanding service which is much appreciated in these type of circumstances.

Colonial has earned many certifications and awards - You can also feel good about supporting a family owned business that's been around over 20 years.

Peace of mind is what you really need - and Colonial HCS gives you just that.

I was placed in a difficult situation last year. I was serving as a power of attorney for the first time and needed to get quality home care for an ailing friend. I asked several of my friends who work in a variety of senior services for recommendations for home care. All led me to Colonial. To me there are the "Rules of P" that define quality. This service has then all. Professionalism, Personality, Punctuality, Pride of Work/Service, Perseverence and Patience.
It was a great relief to find individuals who were so caring and responsive to my friend's individual needs. The staff was continuously in touch with me and without hesitation took action when needed. The worked harmoniously with the hospice organization that handled much of the skilled nursing requirements. It was so seamless, you would think they were all one institution. Kudos, kudos, kudos!

My sister-in-law, Joyce Hill, came to our home directly from Kaiser Permanente.

She was diagnosed with stage-4 Breast Cancer. No medical treatment could help her. Comfort care was all that was required.

Although Joyce was under hospice care, we needed help bathing her until the hospice staff could send bathing assistance.

We called Colonial Home Care. They sent the sweetest angel to our home to help. Daisy bathed, changed clothes and bedding so that Joyce would be as comfortable as possible. I couldn't do it myself. Joyce was beginning to sink into unconciousness and could no longer help me move her. Daisy did the job with expertise that alleviated adding stress to my sister-in-law's discomfort. I'm so grateful.

In fact, Daisy was such a welcome assistant I asked her to return the following Monday. Before I could schedule the appointment my sister-in-law quickly sunk into death's grip. Within days she was gone.

Many thanks to Daisy for her fine work, for bringing such peace and welcome service into our home, and for comforting my sister-in-law Joyce on her journey. What a fine service you give to your client and their grieving family.

My family and I are very grateful to all of you at Colonial Home Care Services for providing us with amazing help when our family was in a horrible crisis at the end of 2014. You were there immediately when time was of the utmost importance, and brought some sanity to a difficult situation.
Your caregiver extraordinaire, Elizabeth, is wonderful! She unobtrusively helped my father acclimate to his drastically new and unfamiliar surroundings in assisted living, and gives him a sense of independence when she drives him to his appointments and shopping trips. Not only it is a relief to my sister and me to know he is in good hands, but my father has quickly become accustomed to having her around, and misses her when she is not there. You cannot underestimate the value of having someone help us in dealing with a dementia patient.
Colonial is truly a wonderful company to work with. They are responsive to all of our needs, compassionate and very professional.
