All members in Connecticut are invited to a virtual lunch and learn with the HCAOA Connecticut Chapter on Wednesday, March 1 from 1:00pm - 2:30 pm. Anne Foley, Co-Chair of the Homemaker-Companion Task Force, will discuss the task force findings and recommendations and outline next steps for policy changes.
Special Act 22-12 established the home care task force to study homemaker-companion agency issues. Last fall, the task force held several meetings, a public hearing and debated many timely issues, such as training and supervision of caregivers, advertising care for clients with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, how the Department of Consumer Protection handles complaints, and whether to transfer regulation and oversight of the industry to the Department of Public Health and license HCAs. Attend this program to hear and discuss the task force report with the co-chair as she presents its findings and recommendations and next steps for any policy changes to implement them.
HCAOA partner Careswitch will present "Walk the Line: How to Get Your Employees’ Pay Right." Every agency owner faces the challenge of paying employees enough to be competitive without sacrificing their already razor-thin margins. The experts at Careswitch recently surveyed hundreds of agencies to gather clear data on how much agencies are paying their employees, what factors they’re using to set pay rates, and even how owners are compensating themselves. There’s nothing like good data to answer the tough questions.
This meeting is free for members, and registration is required.
